KCD2 Nomad Camp: Map, NPCs, Quests and Fixes

The short answer

The KCD2 Nomad Camp is in the woods west of Zhelejov in the Trosky region. Approach from the Zhelejov road, then follow the western forest path to the wagons. Tomcat trains combat near the fighting ring, Mikolai handles horses, and Aranka and the Voivode connect the camp to several quests. The nearby Cuman camp is a separate hostile location; the Nomads are not enemies by default.

The KCD2 Nomad Camp is an early Trosky hub, not one quest marker. It combines combat training, horse services, trade and rest. Discover the travel point, fighting ring and horse wagons before following a quest. Schedules, crime and active objectives can change what you see; a missing option does not prove the KCD2 Nomad Camp is broken.

Find the KCD2 Nomad Camp

Open the Trosky map and look west of Zhelejov in the woods. Henry must get close enough to discover the KCD2 Nomad Camp icon, so navigate from the settlement rather than search for an undiscovered fast-travel symbol.

Follow the steps

  1. Travel to Zhelejov or its wagoners' inn.
  2. Leave toward the west and take the road into the woods instead of continuing north toward Semine.
  3. Watch for tents, covered wagons, horses and the open fighting ring.
  4. Enter without drawing a weapon and discover the KCD2 Nomad Camp travel point.
  5. Walk the whole site once: the fighting area, horse wagons and living area are separated by short forest paths.

The regional map helps with the approach, but its pin does not promise that every KCD2 Nomad Camp service is open. Some dialogue appears only after the relevant introduction or objective.

Nomad camp or Cuman camp?

Players often mix up the friendly KCD2 Nomad Camp with the nearby Cuman location used by Invaders. KCD2 Nomad Camp residents, merchants and trainers are separate from that quest encounter. Hostile Cumans in the woods do not mean Tomcat, Mikolai or the Voivode should attack on sight.

If combat begins inside the KCD2 Nomad Camp, check for theft, trespass, assault or an active pursuit. Leave, clear the crime state and return later; the nearby Cuman encounter does not convert the KCD2 Nomad Camp by default.

Use KCD2 Nomad Camp NPCs and Services

KCD2 Nomad Camp services share one location, but availability still depends on time, progress and reputation.

Train with Tomcat

Tomcat is the KCD2 Nomad Camp combat specialist. Speak to him at the ring during the day. Basic practice comes before the advanced master-strike lesson, so dialogue can remain unavailable until the prerequisite sparring is complete.

For the timing drill and prerequisites, use the KCD2 master strike guide; this KCD2 Nomad Camp guide only locates Tomcat and diagnoses access.

Use Mikolai's horse area

Mikolai works by the horses and covered wagons. He handles KCD2 Nomad Camp horse trade, activities and stolen mounts. Henry may need to ride the target horse into his working area before the relevant dialogue appears.

Do not treat another save's quoted price as guaranteed; reputation, horse value and bargaining can change a deal. The KCD2 Magic Horseshoes guide covers Mikolai's smithing request without turning this KCD2 Nomad Camp page into a quest walkthrough.

Find Aranka and the Voivode

Aranka and the Voivode anchor the KCD2 Nomad Camp family story. Their positions change during Miri Fajta, so follow the journal marker or return during waking hours. Aranka trades care supplies; the Voivode controls crucial family dialogue.

The KCD2 Marika guide follows the family choices once KCD2 Nomad Camp residents move; this page handles location, services and recovery.

Trade, rest and save safely

Residents sleep inside the KCD2 Nomad Camp, but their beds are not automatically Henry's. Completing Miri Fajta can grant Henry Gejza's former sleeping quarters, opposite the Voivode's large tent, as a permanent rest-and-save place. Before that unlock, use only a bed confirmed by its sleep-and-save prompt and leave private containers closed.

Save before theft, sparring or consequential dialogue. Leaving the KCD2 Nomad Camp to clear a crime state is safer than escalating it.

KCD2 Nomad Camp Quest Connections

Treat the KCD2 Nomad Camp as a routing point. It introduces or supports several activities, but the location itself is not a single linear quest.

Finish conversations before advancing an objective. If a marker points away from the KCD2 Nomad Camp, follow it instead of waiting at the person's usual tent. With no active quest, return by daylight and check the normal work area.

Fix a Hostile or Unresponsive KCD2 Nomad Camp

Most KCD2 Nomad Camp failures come from state, schedule or positioning. Diagnose the symptom before using console commands.

Reset the interaction without skipping flags

Follow the steps

  1. Read the current journal objective and confirm the required NPC.
  2. Move Henry and the horse out of the immediate KCD2 Nomad Camp interaction area.
  3. Wait until a normal daytime hour, preferably after the residents have resumed work.
  4. Return on foot with weapons sheathed; for Mikolai, park the intended horse close to his wagon.
  5. Save, restart the dialogue and choose the service category before assuming it is missing.
  6. If the correct objective still fails, reload a save from before that quest stage.

Console flags can expose a prompt while leaving later quest state inconsistent. A clean save and intended KCD2 Nomad Camp conversation are safer. If a mod changes schedules, crime or ownership, reproduce without it before reporting a base-game bug.

The KCD2 Nomad Camp is in the forest west of Zhelejov in Trosky. Follow the western road to wagons, tents, horses and the fighting ring.

Is the KCD2 Nomad Camp hostile?

The KCD2 Nomad Camp is not hostile by default. Crime, combat spillover or a quest state can change that; the Cuman location is separate.

Where is Tomcat?

Where is Mikolai?

Mikolai is beside the horse wagons. If a horse option is missing, ride the relevant horse into his working area and begin the conversation again.

Can you sleep at the KCD2 Nomad Camp?

KCD2 Nomad Camp beds have owners. Complete Miri Fajta to receive Gejza's former sleeping quarters; until then, use only a bed that explicitly permits sleep or return to the Zhelejov inn.

Why is an NPC missing?

Check time of day and the current quest marker. Miri Fajta and other activities can move KCD2 Nomad Camp residents away from their ordinary KCD2 Nomad Camp positions.

Use the KCD2 Nomad Camp as an early hub: discover it, map the NPC areas, train with Tomcat, handle horses with Mikolai, and let the active journal decide when quest characters move.
