KCD2 Semine is an early Trosky-region village and fortress southwest of Troskowitz. It hosts Olda and Agnes's wedding, the stable where Henry can reclaim Pebbles, three traders, several skill teachers, and Gules's missable bandit-hunting chain. Its future is decided by what Henry tells Otto von Bergow during Back in the Saddle and Necessary Evil.
Quick answer: To keep KCD2 Semine intact, do not mention that young Semine left his wedding when von Bergow questions you in Back in the Saddle. In Necessary Evil, report that the bandits are at Nebakov but choose “Nobody helped the bandits here” and end the report. This prevents the raid and unlocks Silence is Golden.

KCD2 Semine Quick Checklist
| When | What to do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| First visit | Reclaim Pebbles from Groom Ballatay | Cheap or free permanent horse |
| Before Wedding Crashers | Complete The Jaunt | Unlocks Gules and his four tasks |
| Before Necessary Evil | Finish or preserve local tasks | A raid destroys their quest hub |
| Back in the Saddle | Do not mention Olda leaving the wedding | Avoids a very hard later check |
| Necessary Evil | Hide Olda's involvement from von Bergow | Prevents the raid completely |
This KCD2 Semine order is the safest completionist route. If you still need to plan the main story, use the KCD2 quests and cutoff guide. The wedding itself has more routes and optional scenes in the Wedding Crashers guide.
Where Is KCD2 Semine?
KCD2 Semine lies in the southwest part of the Trosky map, southwest of Troskowitz. The walled farmstead is easy to recognize by its central fortress and large horse paddock. The settlement is separate from Lower Semine Mill, which lies farther south and belongs to Miller Kreyzl's quest route.
KCD2 Semine is not a full town with every service. The confirmed KCD2 Semine traders are:
- Groom Ballatay, who sells horses and horse equipment;
- the Saddler, who sells tack and related gear;
- the Grocer, who sells food and provisions.
Useful residents include Sir Jan Semine, his son Olda, Captain Gnarly, Gules, Guildsman Janek, and Herdsboy Natan. Captain Gnarly, Janek, Gules, and Tibor can provide skill training when their conditions are met. The notable local item Life in the Saddle I is a Horsemanship skill book.
Get Pebbles at KCD2 Semine
The KCD2 Semine stable is one of the most valuable early stops because Pebbles is waiting there. Greet the grey mare, then speak with Groom Ballatay and choose the dialogue about Pebbles. A successful Speech check persuades him to return Henry's old horse for free; otherwise, you can buy her for a modest early-game price.
Reclaiming Pebbles also earns An Old Friend. Do this before risking KCD2 Semine's destruction. If you want to compare Pebbles with Herring or paid mounts, the KCD2 horse guide explains the hidden distance perks and long-term tradeoffs.
KCD2 Semine also sells other horses and horse gear, but prices and displayed statistics can vary with reputation, haggling, tack, and player bonuses. There is no need to steal a mount: speak to Ballatay during the day and use the legitimate ownership dialogue.
KCD2 Semine Wedding and The Jaunt
The Wedding Crashers main quest brings Henry to KCD2 Semine for the marriage of Olda Semine and Agnes. Henry may earn entry through Blacksmith Radovan or Miller Kreyzl, but the route you use affects which preparation quests remain available.
Completionists should finish Radovan's The Blacksmith's Son and The Jaunt before entering the wedding. The Jaunt follows a missing cart to KCD2 Semine and introduces Gules. Once the wedding begins, that quest can no longer be started, which also blocks Gules's four connected tasks.
You can explore KCD2 Semine, reclaim Pebbles, trade, and complete available local content before committing to the wedding. Make a manual save before entering the celebration because the story temporarily locks Henry into a sequence of main quests.
KCD2 Semine Gules Quest Chain
After The Jaunt, Gules appears as a guard at KCD2 Semine and offers four tasks in order. Wait roughly two in-game days between completed tasks if the next marker does not appear.
| Task | Objective | Best practical note |
|---|---|---|
| Canker | Begin the KCD2 Semine chain and recover his mace | Prepare for a group fight |
| Handsome Charlie | Continue the KCD2 Semine chain and return his cap | A successful dialogue can produce a one-on-one duel |
| Johnny the Gob | Follow the KCD2 Semine contract and recover the shield | Sparing Johnny lets Henry keep the shield |
| Casper | Finish the KCD2 Semine chain and return his ring | Bring strong armour, potions, and a sharp weapon |
The KCD2 Semine bounty chain is double missable: The Jaunt must be completed before the wedding, and KCD2 Semine must not be raided during Necessary Evil. The safest approach is to complete the chain before advancing that main quest. Avoid old bug workarounds such as knocking out a surrendering NPC unless a current save actually exhibits a problem; patches may change script behaviour.
Finishing Casper gives Groschen, can let Henry keep Casper's ring, and unlocks Gules as a trainer for Swordsmanship, Unarmed, Thievery, and Stealth. These are the reliable rewards. Random camp loot and container money should not be treated as fixed KCD2 Semine rewards.
Other KCD2 Semine Quests
KCD2 Semine contains more than the wedding and Gules's contracts:
- Magic Horseshoes: Guildsman Janek wants special horseshoes for a race. The task connects KCD2 Semine with the Nomads' Camp.
- Hunting the Werewolf: Herdsboy Natan's missing sheep lead to a human threat rather than a supernatural monster. It belongs to the longer Mutt-related sequence.
- Wedding Crashers: The main wedding event uses most of the fortress and its residents.
- Necessary Evil: This main quest can leave KCD2 Semine untouched, burned after an escape, or destroyed in a massacre.
The village also has nearby points of interest, including Semine Pond, a pagan burial ground, and the remains of a Celtic oppidum. Lower Semine Mill is a separate nearby location with Miller Kreyzl, brawling activities, and the miller route into the wedding.
Save KCD2 Semine in Back in the Saddle
The cleanest KCD2 Semine outcome begins one quest before Necessary Evil. After investigating Nebakov during Back in the Saddle, von Bergow asks what Henry noticed. Do not volunteer that young Semine left his wedding early.
That earlier answer matters because it gives von Bergow a reason to suspect Olda. If you already mentioned it, KCD2 Semine can still be saved, but the later lie may require a very hard Speech check. A high Speech build, suitable clothing, perks, and temporary buffs can help, yet reloading before the earlier report is more reliable.
There is no benefit to telling von Bergow every suspicious detail if your goal is to preserve KCD2 Semine. Report the information required to move the main investigation forward, but keep Olda's wedding departure to yourself.
Best KCD2 Semine Choice in Necessary Evil
During Necessary Evil, Henry and Hans interrogate a captive to locate the bandits. You can use Speech and known evidence or apply physical pressure. Do not overdo the violence: the captive can die and cost reputation. The useful hard fact is that the bandits are hiding at Nebakov.
For the best regional KCD2 Semine outcome:
- Learn or confirm that the bandits are at Nebakov.
- When discussing the result with Hans, agree to keep quiet about KCD2 Semine.
- Tell von Bergow where the bandits are hiding.
- Choose “Nobody helped the bandits here.”
- End the report without naming Olda Semine.
Von Bergow then targets Nebakov instead of KCD2 Semine. The KCD2 Semine raid never begins, the fortress and residents remain available, and Silence is Golden unlocks. You can later return to Sir Jan and acknowledge that you protected his family.
Every KCD2 Semine Raid Outcome
If von Bergow learns enough about Olda, he sends Burgrave Hashek and soldiers to KCD2 Semine. At that point, the intact-fortress outcome is already lost.
| Raid choice | Immediate result | KCD2 Semine result |
|---|---|---|
| Side with Hashek | His troops kill defenders and civilians; Olda can be executed | Fortress burns and services are lost |
| Turn against Hashek | Henry and Hans fight von Bergow's soldiers | Fortress burns as cover; the KCD2 Semine family escapes |
| Side with Semine immediately | Henry defends the residents from Hashek | Fortress burns as cover; survivors flee |
| Ignore the departure timer | Hashek proceeds without Henry | The raid still happens |
Siding with KCD2 Semine during the raid saves more people than following Hashek, but it does not save the physical KCD2 Semine location. The family burns the fortress to fake the outcome and goes into hiding. When reporting back, let Hans maintain the cover story; openly confessing that Henry killed Hashek causes a game over.
The main story eventually continues regardless, but the regional cost is real: the traders, stable, trainers, and unfinished Gules tasks at KCD2 Semine disappear when the fortress burns.
KCD2 Semine FAQ
Can you stop KCD2 Semine from burning?
Yes. Hide Olda's suspicious wedding departure in Back in the Saddle, then report Nebakov without naming Olda in Necessary Evil. Preventing the raid is the only way to keep the fortress intact.
What if I already told von Bergow about Olda?
Try the later “Nobody helped the bandits here” Speech check. If it is too difficult, reload the report at the end of Back in the Saddle and avoid mentioning Olda.
Should I side with KCD2 Semine or Hashek?
If the raid has already started, side with KCD2 Semine to save the residents and family. The stronger completionist result is to prevent the raid earlier, because that also preserves the settlement and its content.
When should I finish the Gules quests?
Complete The Jaunt before entering the wedding, then finish Canker, Handsome Charlie, Johnny the Gob, and Casper before Necessary Evil. This avoids both missable conditions.
Can I get Pebbles after KCD2 Semine burns?
Do not rely on it. Reclaim or buy Pebbles from Groom Ballatay before Necessary Evil. Once the fortress is destroyed, its normal traders and stable services are gone.
Is Lower Semine Mill part of the fortress?
No. Lower Semine Mill is a separate nearby location run by Miller Kreyzl. It remains important for the alternative wedding route and combat activities, but it is not the KCD2 Semine stable or fortress.
