The short answer
Before starting KCD2 For Victory, finish the Trosky side work you care about, make a manual save, repair Henry's armor, carry healing potions, and leave spare inventory space. In KCD2 For Victory, get armor from Osina after Hans retires from the feast; after sleeping, get wine from Cook Manyeta, then give Hans at least one suitable unequipped armor piece and a weapon. During the Nebakov ambush, stay near Hans, help surviving allies, attack occupied enemies from the side or rear, and preserve stamina for the final duel. Master Strike helps, but KCD2 For Victory does not require it.

KCD2 For Victory is main quest 9 and the Trosky act's major commitment point. The feast looks relaxed, but the morning ride becomes a long battle near Nebakov. This KCD2 For Victory guide separates optional banquet errands from the required handoff, then routes the group fights without pretending one technique is mandatory.
Prepare Before KCD2 For Victory!
The KCD2 For Victory full-screen warning appears before Henry speaks to Hans in the evening. Accepting KCD2 For Victory restricts free roaming for a while and leads directly into several story quests. Most side quests can be completed later, but Demons of Trosky is the named exception. Finish it and any Trosky activities you do not want interrupted.

Battle preparation
0/7 completedThe KCD2 armor guide explains protection, noise and layering. Train perfect blocks and target control before KCD2 For Victory if group combat is unfamiliar. Master Strike is useful, but recent player reports often overstate it as a hard prerequisite.
Finish the KCD2 For Victory Feast
The KCD2 For Victory banquet contains optional conversations. Talk to Otto von Bergow, Hans, Johanka, Nicodemus and Black Bartosch if you want their dialogue, but do not treat every interaction as required. KCD2 For Victory advances after the feast and Hans's morning supply objectives.
The KCD2 For Victory Florian ring prank and Johanka's private conversation are optional. Sources disagree on some reward numbering and effect duration, so this guide does not promise a “best” exact prize. Complete desired conversations before a scene advances time; KCD2 For Victory remains beatable without the prank, wager or romance.
Get Hans's Armor and Wine in KCD2 For Victory
After Hans retires from the feast, KCD2 For Victory sends Henry to Osina for armor; this step can be handled before sleep. After Henry wakes and Manyeta is available, collect the wine, then hand both supplies to Hans in the morning. Do not sell Osina's items or equip all of them before the handoff.
Get KCD2 For Victory armor from Osina
Find Blacksmith Osina at the Trosky forge. The KCD2 For Victory armor objective allows a dialogue check, payment, or fistfight to obtain armor pieces and a common longsword. The price varies by exchange, so keep Groschen available rather than planning around one number.

Get KCD2 For Victory wine from Cook Manyeta
The KCD2 For Victory wine objective sends Henry to Cook Manyeta in the Maiden Tower kitchen. Open the marked medium-difficulty herbs or spice chest and report back for Hans's Hungarian wine. Some routes allow refusal with a reputation cost, but opening the marked chest is the clear cooperative route.

Finish the KCD2 For Victory handoff
Return to Hans only when Henry is ready to depart. KCD2 For Victory does not require the whole set: Hans needs an accepted weapon, armor piece and quest wine. Keep one qualifying armor piece unequipped. If Hans asks where it is, unequip the gift, repair damage, confirm the wine and retry.
Complete the KCD2 For Victory handoff
- Keep the common longsword or another accepted weapon in inventory.
- Unequip at least one suitable armor piece instead of wearing every Osina item.
- Repair the intended gift if its condition is poor.
- Confirm the wine from Manyeta remains in Henry's inventory.
- Speak to Hans, hand over the requested categories, then mount up only after the objective changes.
This KCD2 For Victory handoff is the last convenient equipment check. Put Henry's armor back on, quick-slot consumables and shed excess weight.
Survive the KCD2 For Victory Ambush
The KCD2 For Victory march is interrupted in a wooded ravine. It becomes a moving escort fight: Hans must survive, allies can be lost, and sprinting ahead can isolate Henry from the group.
Move with the KCD2 For Victory group
- Regain contact with Hans after the opening attack and clear the nearest enemies.
- Stay on the road and move at the group's pace instead of looting every body.
- When Hans helps Chamberlain Ulrich, defend them from the attackers.
- After Ulrich falls, follow Hans and go around the barricade by the open side path.
- Wait for surviving allies before engaging the wagon and archer group.
- Focus the enemy already occupied by Hans or another ally, then reposition.
- Follow Hans into the mill area and prepare for the duel cutscene.
Ulrich's death in KCD2 For Victory is scripted. Henry can defend him while Hans frees him, but the later shot still kills him. Reload only if a required state fails; there is no secret survival outcome for Ulrich.

Win KCD2 For Victory group fights without getting surrounded
KCD2 For Victory punishes long attack strings. Keep stamina high, block while repositioning, and use short attacks on an opponent focused on an ally. Disengage and circle if target lock hides another attacker.
Do not drink while enemies hit Henry. Apply combat buffs before the KCD2 For Victory ride or during a safe pause, quick-slot permitted healing, and use the post-barricade checkpoint. Loot only when safe; overencumbrance makes the next wave harder.
Beat the KCD2 For Victory Zizka duel
At the KCD2 For Victory mill, Hans is wounded and the leader accepts Henry's challenge. Preserve stamina, block or dodge, punish a clear recovery and aim at less protected areas when safe. KCD2 For Victory ends the encounter through story progression after enough effective offense; no fixed hit count is verified.

Master Strike can simplify the duel, but it is not mandatory. KCD2 For Victory can be completed with ordinary defense, stamina control and clean counterattacks. After the duel and cutscenes, the story changes perspective for Divine Messenger; that switch is the expected continuation.
KCD2 For Victory Troubleshooting
Find the cause
| Symptom | Check first | Safe recovery |
|---|---|---|
| Hans says “Where is it then?” | Armor is equipped, broken, sold, or the wine is missing | Unequip one suitable piece, repair it, confirm the wine and retry the dialogue |
| KCD2 For Victory will not start | Old save, mod conflict, or a legacy polearm-state bug | Update the game, disable quest-altering mods, then reload before the evening conversation |
| Hans or allies do not follow | Henry sprinted beyond the current fight or path trigger | Return toward the last living ally, clear nearby enemies, and let Hans reach the route |
| Henry reaches a large group alone | Earlier allies died or the next wave triggered too early | Reload the recent checkpoint, protect more allies, and advance at their pace |
| The duel feels impossible | Low health, damaged gear, depleted stamina | Reload before departure or the checkpoint, repair and pre-buff; Master Strike remains optional |
| Nothing changes after the duel | Expected cutscene or next-quest trigger did not fire | Wait briefly, reload the latest quest checkpoint, remove mods, and retry from before the duel |
Official Patch 1.2 notes fixed a broken KCD2 For Victory start tied to polearm-only play since Tomcat's second tutorial. That does not prove every KCD2 For Victory stall has the same cause. Record platform, version, mods, objective and last trigger.
The earlier KCD2 Semine guide helps preserve the fort and side content, but no Semine choice removes KCD2 For Victory's Nebakov ambush. KCD2 For Victory proceeds to that battle on the story route.
KCD2 For Victory Completion Check
- KCD2 For Victory accepted Hans's weapon, unequipped armor piece and wine.
- Henry left with repaired gear, manageable weight and consumables.
- Hans and allies reached each KCD2 For Victory trigger.
- Ulrich's scripted death was not mistaken for failure.
- The KCD2 For Victory duel advanced without a promised hit count.
- Divine Messenger began after the perspective change.
KCD2 For Victory is less about one perfect build than preparation and pacing. Preserve a save before Hans, complete the two supply errands, keep the group together, and use stamina-safe attacks. Those choices address the most common KCD2 For Victory failures without turning an optional advanced technique into a false requirement.
