KCD2 Pavlena: Save Her and Finish Bad Blood

KCD2 Pavlena: Save Her and Finish Bad Blood

KCD2 Pavlena is Bozhena's missing daughter in Bad Blood, an early Trosky side quest. To save her, learn about the pregnancy from Dushko, negotiate with Ota, then reconcile Jakesh and Bozhena. Save before entering the rocky camp.

Quick answer: Start KCD2 Pavlena by speaking to Bozhena after Wedding Crashers begins. Ask Dushko every question, search Roman's house, inspect the Lovers' Spot, deal with Straw, then climb into the rock camp north of the Wine Wagon. During the hostage talk, do not threaten Ota or say he cannot leave. Use the pregnancy fact when available. After the rescue, agree to confront Jakesh, persuade him to reconcile, and give his compensation to Bozhena.

This article contains spoilers for Bad Blood and its later consequences.

How to start KCD2 Pavlena and Bad Blood

Return to the herbwoman's hut where Bozhena treated Henry and Hans during the prologue. Bad Blood becomes available when Wedding Crashers begins. Speak to Bozhena and ask about KCD2 Pavlena.

Searching KCD2 Pavlena's sleeping area is optional. Inspect the hat, clothes, baskets and bed if you want background, but you do not need to unlock her chest to advance Bad Blood. The critical lead is in Troskowitz: ask townspeople or the bailiff until the search points to Dushko and Roman.

Dushko is the most important optional conversation in the KCD2 Pavlena route. Ask about Roman and keep pressing when Dushko starts to hold something back. A successful dialogue check reveals that KCD2 Pavlena is pregnant. This fact later gives Henry a direct way to make Ota release her and can help persuade Jakesh to abandon the feud. If the check fails, the quest remains completable, but later dialogue checks carry more risk.

Enter Roman's house through the locked door or exterior ladder. Inspect the set table, then return to Dushko for the Lovers' Spot south of town.

Follow Roman's trail and find KCD2 Pavlena

At the Lovers' Spot, examine the bloodied picnic and torn cloth, then follow the blood to Roman's body. Speak to hogherd Hugo nearby: he saw Straw leaving with a spade. This gives the KCD2 Pavlena investigation a named suspect instead of another blind search.

For the KCD2 Pavlena route without Mutt, confront Straw at the farm. If persuasion fails, fight until he yields and hear his confession; losing a dialogue check does not end the KCD2 Pavlena rescue. He identifies his brother Ota and the rocky hideout. Sparing Straw provides another argument with Ota, but you can also hand him to the bailiff.

Mutt is optional. If you have already recovered Mutt, let him smell the torn dress to track KCD2 Pavlena toward the camp. Without him, use Hugo and Straw's leads. Do not postpone the rescue to complete the separate dog quest.

After Straw gives up the location, travel directly to the camp. The practical landmark is the forest and rock formation north of the Wine Wagon interesting site. Approach along the rock wall until you see a ladder. A dog guards the lower path. Evade it and climb quickly if possible; sparing it leaves another calming response available in the KCD2 Pavlena negotiation.

Save KCD2 Pavlena during the Ota negotiation

Stop immediately after climbing the ladder and use the negotiate prompt. Walking into Ota can kill KCD2 Pavlena before a conversation begins. With Dushko's information unlocked, the documented route is:

  1. Introduce yourself as Henry.
  2. Say nobody sent you.
  3. Reveal that KCD2 Pavlena is pregnant.
  4. Promise Ota that he can leave.

Read the labels: earlier choices change the options. Other guides succeed while naming Bozhena; lying is not mandatory. The essential KCD2 Pavlena decision is to de-escalate and honor the promise of release.

When discussing KCD2 Pavlena's release, do not tell Ota that he cannot leave. In the commonly documented successful path, Ota lets her go and KCD2 Pavlena kills him herself. This route does not save Ota.

If combat starts, protect KCD2 Pavlena. Reload before the ladder if Ota kills KCD2 Pavlena. An August 2026 player resolved repeated automatic failure by restarting and loading an older save after Roman's house; this remains an unverified workaround.

Once KCD2 Pavlena is safe, finish her conversation and choose to return together. This takes you back to Bozhena's hut without a separate journey. If she leaves before the normal rescue conversation, treat that as the abnormal state described below.

Reconcile Jakesh and Bozhena

Rescuing KCD2 Pavlena is not the end of Bad Blood. Bozhena blames farmer Jakesh for the feud and asks Henry to kill him. Agreeing to confront him keeps every route open; Henry can still negotiate instead of murdering him.

Find Jakesh in Troskowitz, often at his farm or the tavern depending on time. The non-murder route commonly begins with I've come to kill you, continues by accusing his men of acting for him, and then offers to patch things up. If the pregnancy fact is available, use it as leverage for ending the feud. Otherwise Henry needs a suitable Persuasion, Charisma or Intimidation check.

Jakesh gives 100 groschen for Bozhena. Report the reconciliation and offer her the money. She then offers Henry half: accepting those 50 groschen is compatible with this peaceful ending. Secretly keeping the compensation is a different choice. KCD2 Pavlena can become a herb and recipe merchant and trainer after a favorable resolution. Killing Jakesh also completes a revenge branch, but murder is unnecessary for the KCD2 Pavlena merchant route.

Check the trade prompt: KCD2 Pavlena sells herbs and recipes, but inventory can vary. For gathering ingredients elsewhere, the KCD2 belladonna guide covers reliable plants and vendors.

KCD2 Pavlena failures and recovery

The quest fails when you leave Trosky

Bad Blood can remain active in the background. Finish KCD2 Pavlena before advancing out of the Trosky chapter. If the failure notification already appeared, reload a save before the region transition; there is no supported journal reset described by reliable guides.

Ota is dead and KCD2 Pavlena is missing

Players report this after delays or nearby combat, but no verified universal countdown explains every case. If KCD2 Pavlena is absent or walks away without talking, reload before confronting Straw and go directly to the gorge. Treat this as a recovery attempt, not a guaranteed fix. Do not overwrite that recovery point with another exit save; the KCD2 save guide explains why exit saves are temporary.

The pregnancy option is missing

The KCD2 Pavlena pregnancy line is learned from Dushko before the rescue. Return to him if the investigation still permits it and exhaust the dialogue about Roman and KCD2 Pavlena. If the route has advanced too far, use the ordinary dialogue checks or reload before the Dushko conversation.

KCD2 Pavlena survives but later tragedy occurs

Refusing to help Bozhena with Jakesh is different from negotiating peace. The refusal branch can lead to both women dying later. A failed check with Bozhena does not force that outcome: agree to speak to Jakesh and attempt reconciliation there. For KCD2 Pavlena, check the final journal entry confirms peace instead of assuming the hostage rescue settled the feud.

KCD2 Pavlena will not trade

Confirm that Bad Blood and reconciliation are complete. Leave, sleep, and return during daytime to find KCD2 Pavlena. A June 2026 player report describes the KCD2 Pavlena trade prompt remaining absent despite good reputation, sleep and restarting. Those actions are troubleshooting attempts, not a documented universal fix.

KCD2 Pavlena bugs: check the report's version

Official patch 1.2 notes list fixes for Pavlena reacting to Ota's sword, rare broken Jakesh dialogue combinations, and her death location after leaving Trosky. Those notes help explain why launch-era KCD2 Pavlena reports differ; they do not prove every later save-state problem was fixed. Record your platform, game version and last working objective before comparing a workaround.
